San Francisco, August 1 (SocialNews.XYZ) Apple is likely to expand its Mac portfolio with high-end MacBook Pros and M2 silicon-based Mac minis later this year.
M2 products currently include the 13-inch MacBook Pro and the revamped MacBook Air.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, there will be a “major increase” in MacBook sales.
“Apple will get more momentum with the launch of new Mac minis and high-end MacBook Pros later this year,” he said Sunday night.
Earlier reports mentioned that MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max will arrive by fall.
Newer Mac models will offer better internal specs rather than undergoing major makeovers.
For Mac, Apple generated $7.4 billion in revenue despite supply constraints and negative effects in the June quarter.
Mac revenue was down 10% due to supply chain constraints and unfavorable exchange rates.
Apple last month released a redesigned MacBook Air powered by the company’s M2 chip.
“M2 delivers a faster CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine, along with higher memory bandwidth and new features like Pro Res acceleration. And it continues the breakneck pace of innovation in silicon Apple for Mac,” according to Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Admitting the company continues to have supply constraints with Mac, Cook said “we’re encouraged by the strong customer response to our incredible range.”
“The iPad, like the Mac, continued to see strong demand in the June quarter despite ongoing supply constraints,” said Apple’s CEO.
